Replaced a finial on my porch with untreated new one. I have given it 4 coats and it looks good. We will see if it lasts 10 years. More satin than gloss but that doesn't matter.

Easy to apply (not too thick/not too runny). Does require 2 coats, with 4 hours left inbetween. Washes well out of paint brushes. Can not comment on how long it lasts as only just started painting the garage doors.

Good coverage and easy to use. Glides onto the surface without leaving a trail and dries smooth. Not sure on weather proof as yet but has certainly stood up to a couple of weeks of frost and rain so far.

I normally use solvent based Dulux Weathershield gloss, but decided to try the Ronseal as it was far less expensive. Easy to apply and brushes easy to clean. Sadly after just over a year, cracks started to appear. After less than two years, the paint started to flake off. I think if the exterior surface is exposed to direct sunlight, the timber is subject to repeated expansion/contraction, and the water based Ronseal paint is too brittle to cope. I will be returning to using solvent based paint.
