This is a cordless fence paint sprayer requires a Makita 18v, not included. I like that you don't get the battery included as this helps keep the cost down and if you don't own a Makita battery you could buy or borrow one. I ordered this paint sprayer as we have to replace 4 fence panels this month and this would greatly speed up the job of paint them before we put them up. The sprayer comes with everything you need, minus battery, to get started. It was easy to put together and take apart so i'm hoping it's just as easy to clean. As we don't have the panels yet i had a go at painting the existing panels with water so i could get a handle on how to use it without wasting paint. The paint container holds a good amount of water/paint so less stops to have to refill which is good. I had to refer to the instructions to see how to change the spray pattern and range. I'm glad i used water for this bit as it did take me a while to get the spray pattern and range right for the job but i'm much more confident for when i come to use the fence paint. The sprayer feels solid and well made so i'm hoping it will last as i'd like to give some jobs inside the house a go with the sprayer, i hate painting internal doors.

I've always fancied trying one of these as fence painting is both about intensive and boring, anything that offers to speed up the task is already on a winner. This sprayer initially looks OK. assembly is straight forward (if you look at the picture to get the orientation of the liquid container), and there aren't too many pieces to put together. The first thing you notice is the lack of any branding, in all honesty, it looks like a mass produced "dropship" product, this is backed up by the fact that you can see identical products being sold by other brands across the internet. Everything seems a little cheap and its very basic in its design. The trigger switch presses against a plunger on the body of the sprayer, it works, but its all a bit low tech and lacks finesse. Use wise its again a mixed bag too. The hopper has a delivery tube, but like most cheap devices like this it doesn't have a weight to keep it on the bottom of the hopper, as such it will start to splutter and spit if the level gets too low, it also means that you end up with a substantial amount of paint in the bottom that it can't use, so you have to refill more often. Spray wise, I've so far only used fence stain which was quite runny compared to paint. It did a fair job, but the overspray was inconsistent so any time gained is lost through masking up if like me, you have to paint the panels without taking them out. The finish was OK, not as patchy as a brush, but a few more run marks, but this may be a case of practicing with it. Overall, priced at £33.99 at the time of ordering, its a relatively cheap sprayer, but it does a reasonable job. Yes you can get an identical product for less, but it will take weeks to arrive and you wont get the great Amazon aftersales service.
